Why Join?

The Rockland Road Runners Club promotes, encourages, and coordinates running events in Rockland County, NY. It participates in community activities, advocating the benefits of running and jogging as a means of physical exercise and good health. Runners of all ages and abilities are welcome and encouraged to be members.Here are at least 14 good reasons to join:(The following benefits are included in your membership dues!)

  1. MEETINGSat the Nanuet Restaurant – Free pizza and beverages, updates on club events, meet new people with similar interests, informative speakers, and more!
  2. RACES- Five club-sponsored races per year with reduced entry fees. These events collectively generate over $100,000 annually for local charities like Rockland Family Shelter, People To People, Salvation Army, and United Hospice just to name a few.
  3. COMPETITIVE TEAM- Compete for Team RRR in the New York Road Runners club championship events. Enjoy preferred starts, car pools to events, and the rewards that come with being part of the team.
  4. DAILY GROUP RUNS- Weekday and weekend groups meet regularly at Rockland Lake. Various levels from beginner to advanced.
  5. LONG RUNS- scheduled to meet the training requirements of the popular fall and spring marathons these long runs are held at Rockland Lake, Nyack, Piermont and Harriman providing scenic courses and water stops. All levels are welcome.
  6. TRACK WORKOUTS- Get in condition for summer races (or just go for fun) at the supervised track workouts at Pearl River High School from May – August.
  7. SPECIAL EVENTS- Chartered buses to races of interest in the tri-state area, club picnics, fun runs, interclub events and more throughout the year!
  8. NYC MARATHON BUS- Get a ride to the start of the marathon for $10.
  9. CLUB NEWSLETTER- The Runaround is our award winning quarterly newsletter.
  10. WEEKLY INFORMATION E-MAIL NETWORK- Advising of club events and pertinent running information.
  11. WEBSITE- Up-to-date info featuring all that’s happening in the running community, including the local race calendar.
  12. HOLIDAY PARTY- You can dance the night away at our annual celebration in early December, complete with buffet, refreshments, annual awards, raffles, DJ and more!
  13. SHOPPING DISCOUNTS- Merchandise discounts at selected stores (All participating merchants listed at Member Benefits).
  14. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES – An opportunity to give back to the community through RRR races, events and activities.
