It is not too late to register on-line for 2011 5 Mile Turkey Trot 

 

Dear RRR Member:

On-line registration for the 20th Annual 5 Mile Turkey Trot is closed, but you still have three opportunities to register before Race Day.  See the details in the article below.  
 
The 29th Annual Bill Markiewicz Memorial Alumni X-Country Run (3 miles) is Saturday, November 26th at 12 Noon.   
 
Our Adopt-A-Road Coordinators are looking for volunteers for the last clean-up of 2012.  Help us "Keep Rockland Beautiful", and most importantly Rockland Lake. See the article below for the date and time.

The Annual Rockland Road Runner Holiday Party is Saturday, December 10th at  Town & Country in Congers, NY.  Flyers are being mailed to all member's homes.  You can contact Enilda Indyk with any questions at enildai@aol.com.   

 

Don't forget to print out and use the Modell's coupon below.  The beneficiary from November 18th thru December 16th is The Marisa Fund.

20th Annual 5 Mile Turkey Trot - Thanksgiving, November 24th 
You still have three opportunities to register for the 2011 5 Mile Turkey Trot on Thankgiving.  They are:  Monday, November 21st, Tuesday, November 22nd and Wednesday, November 23rd from 12 Noon to 8PM at Bravo Restaurant, 4th Floor, Palisades Center Mall, West Nyack.   Cash or check only, NO CREDIT CARDS.

For those that pre-registered, you can pick up your bib number and shirt also at Bravo Restaurant on the dates and times available.  As always, you can pick up your race packet on Race Day,

Make sure to arrive no later than 7:30AM for parking and ensure you are ready to race at the 8:30 AM SHARP start time.  Wheelers will start at 8:15AM.


Race Day will have very limited registration and absolutely NO SHIRTS for race day registrants.  You must arrive by 7AM to register on Race Day.  Cash or check only, NO CREDIT CARDS.

Here are some race details to remember - ABSOLUTELY NO DOGS WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE COURSE.  Strollers must start in the back of the back.  This is an insurance requirement.   

There will be no awards ceremony, but awards will be available as soon as we can absolutely ensure the results are accurate. 

If you cannot join us but would like to make a donation, you can visit the on-line registration page and make a donation thru Active.com.

You can bring donations for People to People.  Non-perishable foods are accepted and welcome.   

Lastly don't forget to use the Modell's coupon below to save $15 on all purchases until December 15th.  Hope to see you and your family & friends to begin the holidays in a health and fun way.



29th Annual Bill Markiewicz Memorial Rockland County Alumni X-Country Run
ALL ALUMNI, come visit teammates and friends at this popular and challenging run.   The race is Saturday, November 26 at 12 Noon - Rain or Shine. Registration is on race day only, starting at 11AM. 

Runners must be post High School age. Alumni of all high schools are eligible, not just Rockland.   No entry fee, but there is an $8 parking fee for Bear Mountain. 
Donations will be accepted to help defray insurance costs!

There is also a Children's Run based on age groups.  No entry fee and each child that participates will receive an award donated by the Clarkstown South Vikings and Ray Kondracki.  This event starts at 11:30AM.

Post Celebration:  Immediately following the race at the Carousel on the grounds of Bear Mountain.  We just learned that the Inn may not be open until the Spring now.

Adopt-A-Road Cleanup
Saturday December 3rd 


We are conducting our Keep Rockland Beautiful Fall Cleanup at Rockland Lake on the 1 mile section of the loop on Saturday December 3rd. Since many of our members enjoy this area while running, we would appreciate your help. It typically takes no more than  than a half an hour or so to complete.

We will meet at the South Entrance to the Lake, near parking lot # 4, at 8:00AM SHARP.

20th Annual Santa Claus Run - Sunday, December 11th. 

Sponsored by the Town of Orangetown.  This is a great stress free run which is popular with many of our members.  Pre-registration is $12 and late registration is $18.  You can pick up applications or register at the Orangetown Parks & Recreation Department, 81 Hunt Road, Orangeburg, NY 10962, Monday to Friday between 9AM - 5PM.  For more information or an entry form you can also call 845-359-6503
