Text Box: NYRR Run for Central Park 4 Miler—Results After the Mets Run to Home Plate was cancelled, a bunch of RRR harriers took a trip to Central Park to get a little racing action. Text Box: Group /Track Workouts this week! Track : Wednesday, July 18th, at Pearl River Track, 7 pm 1 1/2 mile warm-up, 400 m, 800 m, 1200 m, 1200m, 800 m, 400 m, 1 mile warm-down. Summer midweek group runs: During the summer months consider joining the 9 am group for the daily workouts. Start time is 9:10 am from the fishing station parking lot. Text Box: NYRR Naples—New York Park to Park 10K—Results Several RRR members headed to Central Park last weekend to compete in the Park to Park 10K. Not Italian, it doesn’t matter, this race is a celebration of running as a global event. The most beautiful park in Italy v/s the most beautiful running park in the world! Text Box: Rockland Road Runners 3 Mile Fun Run and Summer Barbecue Friday, August 3rd, Rockland Lake State Park, Congers NY Barbeque at Kennelly’s Grill House Fun for the whole Family! Running, Games, Food, Drinks, Raffles and more! The 3 mile Fun run will be timed, no medals, no shirts just a fun warm up for the evenings festivities. 6 pm start at the North Parking Lot of Rockland Lake. Kids races will also be held. Barbecue starts at 7 pm at Kennelly’s Grill House which is conveniently located across the street from Rockland Lake on Route 9W in Congers. Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Chicken, salads, draft beer, wine and sodas are included. Cash bar at the Tiki bar for mixed drinks. We will be providing a slide obstacle course for the kids and inflatable T-Ball game for all to enjoy. Basketball, Volleyball, Horse shoes are some of the activities on site. $10 a person/$5 a child for members, $20 a person/ $10 a child for non-members includes race and barbeque. Non-member prices apply if you do not register by the deadline (July 27th). We need to give head count so Kennelly’s can purchase supplies. Steven Kaminer, of Airmont, NY, died peacefully in the early morning of July 15th, 2007 at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx. Born July 2, 1939 in Brooklyn NY to Beth and Max Kaminer, he is survived by his beloved wife Miriam, his daughters Susan Weiss and husband Mike, Michelle Feliciano and husband Ricky, sister Judy Glick and granddaughter Allison Feliciano. Steven is also predeceased by his brother, Jerry. Funeral Services were held on Monday, July 16, 2007 at Hellman Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1 Executive Blvd., Suffern, NY 10901. Text Box: Next Team Race: NYRR Team Championship 5 miler and picnic in the Park! We will be chartering a bus to the NYRR Team Championships in Central Park on Saturday, August 18th.  In addition to the bus, we will have a picnic bRUNch after the races before we return to Rockland.  This is a fun event because it is one of the few times where everyone can cheer their teammates on because the guys and gals run separately. Based on last year, it was a toss up on who yelled the loudest.  So don't miss out and come be a part of the fun and camaraderie!  Runners of all abilities are welcome. It is a 5 mile race and the men's race starts at 8AM and the women's race starts at 9AM.  The bus will leave from the commuter lot (Lot J) of the Palisades Center Mall at 6AM.  The entrance to the lot is across from Home Depot.  The cost for the bus is $10.  Please make checks payable to RRR and send them to Team RRR, P.O. Box 132, Congers, NY  10920.  Also please email me if you'd like to reserve a seat on the bus.  If you plan on arranging your own  transportation to the race, but will be joining us for the picnic, please let me know so we have enough food and beverages for everyone to enjoy. If you like baking feel free to bring something to share.
