Text Box: TRI RRR—members make a splash!

Several RRR members have been Tri-ing something new! Triathlons have long been part of the demography of Rockland Road Runners, with several past and current members enjoying the challenge of training for three disciplines. Its not easy to devote time and money to the sport that needs more equipment and costume changes than Batman. Having heard rumors of an elite contingent secretly meeting in the wee hours of the morning, circling the lake on foot and wheel, sparked interest in the RRR community. Rumors of men in Speedo's and a beautiful blond women kicking their @%%+! on a mountain bike, drew attention to this motley crew. Who are they? Who is their leader? More importantly are they any good? Finally curiosity lead me to track this notorious bunch. Unfortunately, pictures are not available but results are trickling in and they are quite impressive. Kate Tormey who upgraded to a road bike for yesterdays Harriman Tri….won her 30-39 Age Group! And Mitch placed second in his results next week. Way to go RRR!
