Text Box: Nyack Hospital 10K an official RRR club race! The Rockland Road Runners is proud to unite with The Nyack Hospital Foundation to bring you the Nyack Hospital 10K. Saturday - November 17th Proceeds will go to the purchase of Digital Mammography Equipment. 1 in 8 women will get breast cancer, early and accurate diagnosis is paramount in fighting this disease. Lets make sure Rockland County has state of the art equipment to assure the best prognosis for our friends and neighbors. HOW CAN YOU HELP! Volunteer, Participate and form a fundraising team. Text Box: South Nyack 10 Miler Congrats to Mike Angerola, John Gleason, Kathleen Daly, Bernie Casserly and Bob Goldsmith who teamed up with their committee to bring us a spectacular event. Beer, Ravioli, Ice Cream, Hot Dogs, Ice Teas and a 10 miler run to boot! I was very proud to see all the happy faces enjoying the race and finish line celebration. The supervision and the first class treatment provided by our volunteers kept the runners happy despite the hot weather. Thanks to all of you for your support of this event. Art Gunther was the overall male winner for the 11th consecutive year. Olympic Hopeful Claudia Camargo, NYRR female runner of the year, finished 3rd overall and gave Art a double take on the pier, when he glanced back and notice a female not far behind. Not any female a 2:35 marathoner! I am a fan of Claudia’s so before she even lined up to run, the spectators knew they would see a world class performance. A little red headed bird spread the word. Claudia broke the 60 minute mark running 59:05 a course record, and Art easily moved ahead and secured his victory. Jaime Kempton and Suzy Laburt were the top RRR finishers and the top masters runners as well. The pictures provided by Ken Shelton are available for viewing! After an inspiring presentation at our club meeting by Bruce Woolley owner of Diplomat health and Swim club on the topic of Deep water running Aqua Jogging has be come quite the buzz. We have been offered Tuesday and Thursday evening sessions at Diplomat and we are also looking into sessions at Felix Festa middle School. More info will follow in a separate email. Don’t miss out, let me know if you are interested in giving it a try.
